A Young Flame Starting a Big Fire

“I was born into the beef industry but I choose to stay in it because I don’t think it is something I could live without.” These words belong to Chelsea Hull; a rancher, beef industry enthusiast, lover of western fashion and social media influencer who is making her mark on the world by sharing her beef story and living out a life full of passion.

Chelsea Hull is known as @ranchin_redhead on social media but has her hand in multiple segments of the beef industry outside of advocating. This Canadian native ranches, works at a livestock mart and waits tables at a restaurant to connect consumers to more beef products.

Chelsea has been involved with ranching her entire life. She says it is in her blood and she can’t imagine living any other way. Not only did she grow up on her family’s operation but she is also looking forward to building up a herd with her fiance in the future! Chelsea was homeschooled and appreciates that she had this opportunity. It allowed her to grow closer to her family and create countless memories. Her favorite ranching memories are centered around turning pairs out on green pastures after calving season has come to end. However, she loves the new life and rewards that come with calving season too!

While most of us relate to this part of Chelsea’s story, she connects with another group of people about ranching and the western lifestyle too! With over 24,000 followers Chelsea is able to do her part in sharing the truth about beef production, the ranching lifestyle and throw some western fashion in the mix too! Chelsea says she started doing this because she noticed how many other kids her age were intrigued by the lifestyle she lived and always wanted to learn more. Not only does Chelsea use social media to connect with consumers, but her family has also invited many individuals to their ranch for those firsthand experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.

When asked what her wish is for the beef industry, Chelsea said the following. “I have three things that I wish for and I would like to see in the beef industry. Number one is around eliminating the idea that cattle are harmful for the environment because I think that is the exact opposite. Number two would be that people would start shopping locally and I would love to see people start going to farmers directly and start buying from them. And number three, I’d like to see ranchers getting paid what they deserve for their cattle that are being processed in larger plants and sent through the commodity beef supply chain.”
